Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo - Entire Month

Fishermen from everywhere flock to Destin for this month-long festival. Held
in "The World's Luckiest Fishing Village," the event invites all interested parties to comb the coastal waters for fish of all sorts. More than $100,000 in prizes is awarded in multiple categories, and there's no entrance fee if you fish on registered boats.

As a preface to the October Fishing Rodeo, this
festival serves up some of the area's best cuisine
and represents top local restaurants. Held the
first week in October, more than 50,000 visitors
snap up a wealth of seafood dishes, including
fried alligator and shark kabobs. If you're
here in the Florida Panhandle, you won't want
to miss it!

Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival - October 19-20-21

In honor of the fish that once provided sustenance
for body and economy in these parts, the Mullet
Festival attracts more than 150,000 visitors
annually who will consume up to 10 tons of this
humble fish during the three-day festival. This
year's Festival promises a great time for the
entire family, with entertainment, the highest
quality fine art and home hand-crafts, and a
staggering array of food concessions. Lots of
hungry mullet fans will consume this humble
fish that has played such an important role
in both the local economy and in the general
nutrition of our culture. This celebration of
food and fun will take place on the weekend
of October 19-21.
The Mullet Festival is located at the intersection
of Hwy 85 N and College Blvd., about 1 mile
north of SR 20 in Niceville.
